Welcome to Belle Azzure!

Hello there and welcome to Belle Azzure, your one stop shop for Fashion, Lifestyle, Travel and Food. The aim of the game is to bridge the gap between you and your next date night outfit, European destination or new restaurant/cuisine that hasn’t hit your radar yet. As this is my first official post I’ll keep it short n’ sweet and fill you in a little on why I have entered into the world of blogging.  Aside from the fact that I have a background in digital marketing and actually love the idea of having my own baby website to play around with, I definitely have my friends to thank for pushing me on, and making me bite the bullet, pick a laptop up and get typing about my past and future experiences!

I don’t want to spoil too much and give my future blog posts away, but I am really looking forward to sharing as much as I can with you all. Future posts will touch on my travel experience to date, part of which will include how I moved to America, some lifestyle tips and tricks, my fashion finds & of course some foodie fun thrown in along the way to spice things up! Hopefully, as a result of my efforts, some lovely soul out there will get divine inspiration from a fragment of a post and it  will benefit them in their own special way. I would definitely be ‘winning’ as they say if that were the case, so feel free to contact me and let me know if I have acted as the catalyst to your taco obsession or sparked a new found love for New York in you….. (ok I’m giving to much away here better stop!)

Alas I leave you with my first ever shoot to compliment my first ever blog post. I am very excited to say that Belle Azzure is going to have the pleasure of collaborating with the oh so talented photographer Paul Condron on various blog posts in the future…..So be sure to stay tuned!

The Brunch Life: 5 Brunch Spots in Dublin You Need To Try This Weekend

February 17, 2016

Welcome to the beginning of a beautiful brunch obsession.

The purpose of the ‘Foodie‘ section within my blog is to share my passion for food and lay a Hansel & Gretel type bread crumb trail  for you to follow in my food devouring footsteps!

There is no doubt in my mind that this particular blog post topic will have a version 1, 2 & 3 as Dublin’s brunch game is becoming so so strong.

My love for brunch and the whole concept surrounding it has definitely stemmed from my time living in New York. Brunch is a part of people’s lives over there and it takes serious priority at the weekend. One of my favourite things about brunch is that it caters to early risers and people that think 3pm still qualifies as a suitable time to have breakfast. So whether you’re a productive Peter or a laid back Luke at the weekend, brunch has got your back!

To kick off this weekend’s brunch guide; The 5 brunch spots I recommend, in no particular order are….

One of my favourites! A great spot if you have some dietary restricted friends among your group (me for example!). Herbstreet’s menu provides a variety of healthy dishes that satisfies both savoury & sweet tooth’s. As I am gluten intolerant, I went for the Eggs Florentine without the English muffin and the guys kindly added some extra salad to bulk the dish up a bit. I also added the ‘Irish oak smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraiche’ as an extra. Along with that we ordered the super popular and extremely tasty stack of Pancakes. All in all experience was Delish!

Herbstreet Brunch

Super spot for yet another guilt free dish. Eathos have been one of the game changers in Dublin for removing the stigma associated with ‘healthy eating’. Their menu proves that healthy doesn’t always have to = a salad, although they do offer amazing salads too if that happens to be your thing! On this occasion I went for the Gluten Free Buckwheat Pancakes with coconut yogurt, berries, toasted pecans, cacao nibs and maple syrup. (Drooling over keyboard!)

Eathos Brunch

Very cool, chilled, hipster-esque cafe serving simple and well constructed dishes. The people working here ooze coolness! I went for the Spiced Irish Sausage Scramble on Gluten Free Toast, topped with the freshest freshly squeezed orange juice I have ever tasted. Note to self.. go back for the Spiced Carrot & Walnut Pancakes!  Casually spied on a neighbour table who had ordered them and they looked incredible.

Taco Taco

Next up is one for my Mexican food lovers (me being one). Anything that involves guacamole I’m there, and Taco Taco make seriously good guac, so I tend to be there… a lot! Their brunch game is very strong as their Mexican inspired menu caters to the guac & chip worshipers and also the French Toast fans. On this occasion we ordered the Crab Cakes & Brunch Tacos. My advice, top it off with a mimosa and hey presto, the fear of Monday is almost non existent!

5 San Lorenzos

Coco Pops Crunchy French Toast? ….. nuff said!

I had heard a lot of good things about San Lorenzos Brunch menu and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was just what the doctor ordered; friendly staff (crucial for any hungover head that needs a sympathetic & friendly waiter), Great Music and most importantly Great Food. As you can see from the below image I went for the Brunch Tacos, Crab Cakes & the famous Coco Pops Crunchy French Toast. AMAZING! The only problem now is that I need to go back and tick off the rest of the menu! Want my advice…. GO!

…….And there you have it, your first installment of The Brunch Life. I hope you think of me when you are all devouring one of the dishes above this weekend! I better go fetch the ‘Joey Pants’ for the next installment!!!

Until then……

Stay hungry/ Classy!
